Iceland’s climate is oceanic, cold with frequent precipitation at the coast and snowfall in the interior. The south coast, influenced by the Gulf Stream, enjoys a more relatively temperate climate that the rest of the island.

The best season for visiting Iceland is from May to August, months with nicer temperatures as well as weeks of up to 20 hours of sun daily.

Whale-watch from May to September at Skjálfandi Bay, home to Husavik. Twenty-three classes of whales live in Iceland’s frigid waters.
