Custom Travel to Ruanda and Uganda

Highland gorillas only make themselves known to those who enter tropical rainforests that cover Africa’s central ridges. Naturalist guides—expert connoisseurs of the region—take you through foliage and fog to meet elusive primate families.

Just meters away, you’ll contemplate one of our closest animal relatives in their natural habitats, an experience in the wild like no other.

Recommended travel time: Summer

Uganda enjoys a very pleasant climate, given its altitude; temps range from 20-25˚C. There are normally two rainy seasons per year, October to November and April through May. The best time for travel to Ruanda is during the dry months, both for observing wildlife and assuring driving conditions are stable.

Seasonal experiences

The dry season (January-February; June-early September) is best for seeing highland gorillas and the best place to see them is at Bwindi National Park, where there are more than 300 specimens, practically half the world population of these magnificent creatures; you’re guaranteed to see at least a few.
